The fact that we are beginning to discuss the development of #BlackLinkedIn is an indicator that those who are not in positions of power often feel silenced or unsafe expressing their authentic experiences outside of work.

For years the emotional repression and chronic stress from engaging with corporate America has taxed #BIPOC. When proximity to whiteness is deemed as power, other ethnic or racial groups have to navigate the professional world in ways that those in power have the privilege to escape.

When leadership allows employees to honor their authentic emotions and thoughts as it relates to race relations, especially during times of racial stress and racial trauma, it can build empathy and compassion within the work environment.

Your listening ear can go a long way.
